How the Pomodoro technique works

Pick one task and work on it for a single focus session (traditionally 25 minutes), then take a short break of about 5 minutes. After every four focus sessions, take a longer break of 15 to 30 minutes. The fixed rhythm makes it easier to start, keeps distractions for the breaks, and helps you see how much focused time a task really takes.
